Our mobile mechanic service wasn’t just built out of a love for cars, but out of a deeper commitment: to family and to community in the North DFW metroplex and surrounding areas.
In today’s world, time is one of our most valuable resources. Whether it’s waiting around at an auto shop or trying to squeeze in repairs between work and family life, the traditional model just doesn’t work for everyone. We saw an opportunity to do things differently.
So we decided to bring the shop to you!
It is our mission to help improve the lives and communities we call home, by offering mobile services. We’re giving our customers back their time—time to spend with their families, doing the things that matter most. At the same time, this business allows us, as a family, to build something together. To create a legacy that reflects our values: honesty, reliability, and friendships.
We’re not just fixing cars—we’re building relationships. We want our customers to feel like they’re calling a trusted friend, not just a service. Someone who knows their vehicle, who cares about their safety, and who shows up when it matters. So when the unexpected happens, you can count on us to help you get back on the road.
This is a family-run business, and that means everything to us. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about making money—it’s about people, trust, and making life a little easier for the families we serve.
I’m Jimmy Mai, the founder of Mai Car Guy — but more than that, I’m just a regular guy trying to build something honest, something real.
I was raised in the foster care system. I never really had a stable home, or people I could truly call family. But what I did have was determination. I learned to rely on myself, to work hard with my hands, and more importantly how to treat people right. That’s the heart of everything I do today.
I got my start over 10 years ago, turning wrenches in my uncle’s shop in California. I worked on everything — foreign, domestic — whatever rolled in. It was there I fell in love with fixing cars and helping people get back on the road safely. After meeting the love of my life, I moved to Texas to be with her and continued working at local shops. But something didn’t sit right with me.
I kept seeing shops charging people way too much, pressuring them into services they didn’t need — all in the name of profits. Meanwhile, the mechanics were overworked, underpaid, and barely had time to see their families. Corners got cut just to meet numbers, and it was the customers and the mechanics who paid the price.
That’s when I knew I had to do things differently.
I started Mai Car Guy to break away from all that. I wanted to create a business where people get treated with honesty, where quality isn’t sacrificed for profit, and where everyone gets treated like family. Because for someone who grew up without one, building a family now means everything to me.
I don’t just want customers — I want relationships. I want to be the guy you call when something goes wrong, knowing I’ll show up with fair prices, real answers, and no pressure. I want you to feel like you’re being taken care of — because you are.
This isn’t just about fixing cars. It’s about creating something I can be proud of, something I can pass on to my kids one day. It’s about giving back, helping people save money, and showing that there’s still room for honesty in this business.
Thanks for trusting me. I’m here for you — like family.
P.S. Speaking of family, my fiance and I are planning on starting one. Here's to hoping for a blessed year!
